ENACTIVE 2nd annual conference was organized by PERCRO and DIST. The conference took place in Genova Italy, on November 17th and 18th 2005.
ENACTIVE 2005 addressed a wide scientific community, gathering together leading scientists from the domains of technology, psychology, human factors, cognitive sciences, HCI, interaction design and engineering, and is aimed at creating a truly multidisciplinary research community on the new generation of human-computer.
The conference program included two plenary talks, 55 paper presentation, posters sessions and hands-on demos.
The conference has been organized into two main thematic tracks,
- "Technology and Applications" chaired by Prof. Manuele Trucco
- "Psychophsics and Psychology of Action and Perception", chiared by Prof.Thomas Stoffregen.
Experimental and educational activities were addressed in the area of "Hands-on Demos and Tutorials", chaired by dr. Gualtiero Volpe.
Two plenary speeches were given:
- "Ecological Interface Design: Progress and Challenges" by Kim Vicente, professor of Engineering at the University of Toronto and founding director of the Cognitive Engineering Laboratory.
- "Network Latency in Collaborative Virtual Environments" by Roger Hubbold, professor of Virtual
Environments at the School of Computer Science of University of Manchester UK and research group leader of the Advanced Interfaces Group (AIG)
