The strategic objective is creating the conditions for allowing all network participants to conduct integrated research activities through the promotion of integrated actions of research, reinforcing the mutual specialization and mutual complementarity.
The main activities performed during the 2005 dealt with the coordination of the Joint Research Activities (JRA), the encouragement of integration activities and exchange through the assignment of awards, the promotion of long lasting integration and the promotion of Joint Educational Activities.
In order to coordinate the activities among JRAs the Network Infrastructure has organised and participated to common JRAs/IAs meetings in Paris (June 2005) and Lund (September 2005), has defined common platforms within the different JJRAs introducing the concept of “Emblematic scenarios” as inter JRAs activities.
In order to encourage integration activities and exchange among partners the Network has instituted and assignment awards: Mobility Fellowship Awards and Best Joint Paper Award.
The “Mobility Fellowship Award” has been instituted within the ENACTIVE Network of Excellence to sustain and motivate inter-partner collaboration on specific research topics that are related to the Joint Research Areas addressed in the Network.
In order to evaluate the submitted proposal the JRAs leaders commission have been fixed the following evaluation criteria: Level of integration, Relevance for Enactive, Application program, Curriculum, Other issues.
The JRAs leader commission has also assigned the “Best paper award” to the most representative paper produced during 2005 by partners of the Network.
Regarding the promotion for long lasting integration, the Network has encouraged the integration with existing NoEs ed IPs (S2S Network of Excellence, Intuition Network of Excellence, Kaleidoscope Network of Excellence) and has instituted a specific section of the web-site dedicated to a bulletin/newsletter on new initiatives.
The Newsletter is a new tool for disseminating the main activities of the Network to an external audience, and in particular to potential new members for Enactive Interest Group (EIG). The Target Audience of the Newsletter will be: ENACTIVE Partners, EIG, Registered Users and Dissemination database.
Regarding the Promotion of Joint Educational Activities, a set of specific strategic actions to be performed by the Network during the forthcoming period have been planned.
